“There is need for a long term vision for India@100, especially with respect to innovation in the field of water and land usage – like multiple usage of the same land and conservation and optimum utilization of water” said Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Railways. He was addressing Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conclave Role of Innovation in Achieving India@75 Vision of a Developed India by 2022.
India@75 is an initiative of CII that envisions how India should be in her 75th year of independence and seeks to bring together all stakeholders including the industry, government, institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision into a reality. It has taken significant steps towards skill development and vocational training and to create synergy in the higher education curriculum and ever evolving industry requirements to enable our millions of graduates to be industry ready.
Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII & Trustee, India@75 Foundation in his welcome address said, “The innovative initiatives of CII India@75 in the field of Skill Development, Urbanization and Volunteerism have found convergence with the objectives of the Union Government and hence there is a renewed impetus on these three critical aspects that impact livelihood”.
Rajan Navani, Chairman, CII Council on India@75 whilst delivering the vote of thanks stated that, “Mr Prabhu has had long association with India@75 and has guided us towards the achievement of the vision. As suggested by the Hon’ble Minister we will be looking at creating a vision for India@100”.
The Conclave had three sessions, on Technology, Urbanization and Skills to explore the scope of innovation and various means of disruptive approach to give impetus and enable impactful implementation of the mission mode schemes of the Union Government like Digital India’, ‘Skill India’ ‘100 Smart cities’ and ‘Housing for All by 2022’.
